My passion lies in design. Let me demonstrate why I would be an asset in your team
Combing two opposing design frameworks; my architectural foundation integrates technical pragmatism, taught at the University of Bath, with a narrative-driven exploration of a projects brief, encouraged at the Royal College of Art.
In practice, my design methodology was thoroughly tested. The tropical environment of the Turks and Caicos came with unique problems; High salinity paired constant sun exposure required a strong understanding of materials to avoid corrosion, maintain appearance and ensure durability, while sporadic hurricanes dictated a rigorous approach to external detailing and specialized fixing specifications.
Directly engaging with clients taught me that a project’s success is rooted in the clarity of its "essence." In my experience a set of clear visualisations is the best tool in order to translate a schemes complex technical intent into a coherent ideal that the client can champion. This narrative serves as a critical roadmap; by ensuring the client is deeply onboard from the outset, I can navigate necessary redesigns or technical shifts without losing the project's core identity. This clarity not only maintains design integrity but is essential for avoiding the delays and friction that arise when a project’s purpose becomes blurred.
My experience in a small, agile practice provided a transparent view of the economic drivers and rigorous timelines behind multi-million-pound schemes. I have learned to treat logistics, material costs, and regulatory standards as primary design drivers rather than late-stage constraints. By prioritizing "smart" technical solutions—such as the strategic use of high-performance, non-bespoke components—I ensure the architectural vision remains both buildable and economically viable. I am a firm advocate for any tool that drives productivity; my proficiency in BIM and advanced CAD workflows allows me to maintain a high-paced output without sacrificing detail. This holistic understanding of the project lifecycle has resulted in a disciplined, efficient approach to design that makes me confident that I would be an asset in your team.
Software Experience (years)
The idea of creating spaces that relax and invigorate is what motivates me.
With most of us spending over 80% of our lives within buildings, great design undoubtedly improves quality of life. Well designed buildings create spaces in which the mind can thrive, creating calming environments which can pause the chaotic rhythm of everyday life. Great buildings manage to balance both form and function, culminating in practical spaces which possess elegance.
My projects attempt to capture these ideals, I often choose to express the building’s structure and choose materials that create a warm atmosphere. I pay close attention to detail, often employing bespoke furniture to craft an alluring ambience. Sustainability is a requirement in my projects, my most recent project repurposes an existing tower as a “windcatcher” to passively meet the ventilation requirements of the building.
